What to expect when coming to KCC
We’re glad you’re thinking about visiting our church! We are known as a friendly congregation, but we hope you will come find out for yourself!
We know visiting a new church can be scary, whether you’ve been attending another church or have never been to church. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible, so here are answers to questions you may have.
Our morning worship services start at 10:15 am and run about an hour and 15 minutes long. As a small congregation, our services are informal and have a family-like atmosphere. We start our services with a time of singing. Our music style is fairly traditional with hymns, but we also incorporate more contemporary praise and worship choruses and modern hymns into our worship. After the singing, we listen to a sermon to learn more about the truth of God’s word and how to apply it to our lives. We close our service with announcements and prayer. We do take an offering during our service, but we don’t expect visitors to give money.
Our church is a friendly place and we want to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We have a time to greet each other during our morning worship service. People will shake your hand and say “good morning” but we won’t call you out or put you on the spot.
We don’t want you to worry about what to wear. Our church members wear a variety of types of clothing. On a typical Sunday, you’ll see people wearing jeans and t-shirts along with others wearing shirts or jackets and ties. We won’t judge you based on what you wear, and we want you to be at ease, so feel free to wear whatever is most comfortable for you.
During Sunday School, children attend their own age-appropriate class so that parents are free to attend and focus on their own Sunday school class. During worship services, young children (age 0 through 3) are cared for in the nursery and older children (age 4 through 2nd grade) participate in the first half of the service with their families and then can attend Kids’ Time during the sermon.
